Sometimes people are aware of the issues that are causing them problems, and other times, the causes are unknown and existing on a deeper, subconscious level. The conscious, critical mind accounts for only 1-12% of the mind power. It controls your logic, language, and reason. The subconscious mind makes up 88-99% of your mind. The subconscious mind handles automatic functions, makes associations, identifies with past experiences, and handles expectations and imagination.
Hypnotherapy bypasses the conscious, critical mind, and directly accesses the subconscious mind where the underlying issues exist. During the hypnosis session, positive suggestions will be made by the Hypnotherapist to help you relax, manage stress and deal with the underlying thoughts and emotions that contribute to the issue you want to resolve. We call what we do Hypnotherapy instead of just Hypnosis because we use Hypnosis for therapeutic benefit. At no point during the Hypnotic induction are you asleep. What people usually report is feeling very relaxed, and hyper-aware of their environment. The Hypnotherapist makes very specific suggestions tailored to what it is that you would like to change. The first session is 2 hours long, and involves watching a short video on how Hypnosis works, taking a test that will tell us the best way to Hypnotize you, a consultation with the Hypnotherapist, and the Hypnosis session. Follow-up sessions last for one hour.
At the beginning, these suggestions fade with time, but with follow-up sessions, the suggestions fade less and become more effective. Although everyone is hypnotizable, everyone responds differently. With most issues, our experience tells us that 3-6 sessions are usually necessary.
